Primary Responsibilities:

  • Providing design execution for our product portfolio that support our business and the interactions we have with Health Care Professionals (Providers)
  • Determining the information architecture of a digital product. Organize content based on user mental models to ensure efficient, intuitive, and effective wayfinding and task completion
  • Design user flows and wireframes, creating low-fidelity concepts to validate through feedback and testing
  • Create interactive prototypes using refined visual mockups for leadership review and development readiness
  • Partner with our research team in the design and fielding of research studies, then translate user needs and research findings into usable design improvements and/or new opportunities
  • Presenting designs and insights to key stakeholders. Present designs and insights to key stakeholders, clearly articulating how the work meets user goals and business objectives
  • Partnering with business, research, product and tech teams on complex problems that lead to highly functional, accessible, elegant and engaging solutions
  • Help interpret analytics, voice of the customer, market feedback, site rankings and any relevant collateral as needed
  • Explore emerging opportunities in the healthcare digital space, evaluate and evangelize as needed
  • Be the voice of the user in prioritization, new product and feature development for Digital Products and other digital experience areas as needed
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off
  • Demonstrates curiosity and growth mindset contributing to a product design environment that supports continuous learning and innovation
  • Comfort in ambiguity and changing user needs with self-motivation mindset around solving complex problems

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of understanding and experience with:

    • Research
    • Information Architecture
    • Content Strategy
    • Interaction Design
    • Visual Design


  • 2+ years of experience with prominent industry design tools (Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Axure)
  • 1+ years of experience working in cross functional teams
  • 1+ years of experience presenting to stakeholders
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively
  • Proven s olid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a user-centered approach to design
  • Proven portfolio showcasing UX design work, including examples of user research, wireframes, prototypes, and final designs. The portfolio should demonstrate your ability to create user-centered designs and solve complex design problems effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or certification from a UX-related program (Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Technology)
  • Experience working in healthcare
  • Proven ability to foster collaboration and create relationships with individuals on and outside of your direct team
  • Ability to work across a matrixed multi-tiered organization and deliver the best possible outcomes
  • 1+ years of experience with the following:
  • Graphic/Web Design
  • UX Research (design and facilitation)
  • Product analytics, NPS and Voice of the Customer data
  • The iterative design and development lifecycle (Agile Software Development)
  • Working within a Product team
  • Accessibility guidelines

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
