About the role:

Create control databases, user interfaces, and set up control systems based on project specifications and/or sale proposals. Perform field startup and system commissioning tasks. Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers. Mentor team members in their subject matter expertise areas.

What You’ll Do:
  1. Create programming logic using flow diagrams, sequences of operation, panel layouts, and project specifications.
  2. Program control applications supporting operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party devices via multiple communication protocols.
  3. Install software and control programs on-site and remotely.
  4. Perform system checkout, commissioning, and testing to ensure proper operation according to specifications.
  5. Develop system user interfaces per project requirements.
  6. Provide technical support and end-user training.
  7. Conduct system analysis, diagnostics, and corrective actions.
  8. Coordinate system installation with contractors.
  9. Perform final walkthroughs and ensure project completion.
  10. Complete projects assigned by Lead Application Engineers.
  11. Submit weekly timesheets detailing project hours.
  12. Develop and mentor Application Engineers.
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering or at least two years’ experience in Building Automation Controls, Sales, or Project Management.
  • Proficiency with control and HVAC systems, Windows-based computers, MS Office, Google Drive, and programming tools.
  • Ability to read BAS and MEP drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and mentorship abilities.
  • Expert knowledge in at least three of the following: DGLux5, Distech Controls, APIs, BACnet, Modbus, Lon, IT Networking, Troubleshooting.
Physical and Mental Requirements:

Ability to stand, sit, climb, and work in various physical positions; good eyesight and hearing; proficient in mathematics and technical communication.

Working Conditions:

Primarily in climate-controlled environments with site visits involving physical activity and potential hazards. Travel up to 50% annually.

Compensation:

Minimum $75,000/year, maximum $95,000/year, plus discretionary bonuses.
