About The Role

Turnitin is seeking an experienced UX Design Manager to lead and inspire a team of designers working across multiple educational platforms. This role is essential in delivering end-to-end user experiences that are elegant, scalable, and user-centered. You'll be expected to manage team operations, maintain high design standards, contribute to strategic UX vision, and closely collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders.

Success in this role requires strong leadership, a passion for design, and a growth mindset. You should be comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and skilled at both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of UX designers, setting best practices and raising design quality
• Oversee multiple mid-to-large-scale design initiatives from concept to delivery
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and other UX teams
• Provide design direction, coaching, and professional development for team members
• Drive user-centered design culture across teams and advocate for UX best practices
• Create and implement scalable UX processes, tools, and frameworks
• Influence product strategy by contributing to the UX vision and roadmap
• Model Turnitin’s values and help cultivate a culture of collaboration and excellence
  
  

Qualifications

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent professional experience
• 6+ years of experience in UX design or a related field
• Experience managing and growing UX design teams
• Demonstrated success leading end-to-end design of complex, multi-platform systems
• Strong portfolio showcasing both personal design work and team-led outcomes

• Experience building scalable UX systems in ambiguous or evolving environments
• Background in driving large-scale strategic design initiatives
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Experience in education, SaaS, or enterprise platforms is a plus
