Job summary

Amazon is seeking a talented UX designer to contribute to the Alexa for Shopping initiative, a generative AI-powered assistant in the store. You will shape user experiences across product discovery, research support, comparisons and recommendations for hundreds of millions of customers worldwide.

Work with a cross-functional team of designers, researchers, writers, engineers, and PMs to translate customer data into intuitive flows, high‑fidelity designs, and accessible specifications that scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of design experience
• 4+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience

• Partner closely with product and research to define a shared vision, grounded in deep customer data analysis.
• Rapidly produce flows, wireframes, design prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interactions.

Description

We're seeking a talented UX designer to contribute to the innovation team behind Amazon's generative AI-powered assistant in the store, Alexa for Shopping. Alexa for Shopping makes it easy for customers to find and discover products by helping with product research, providing comparisons and recommendations, answering specific product questions, and more. As a UX designer on this fast-moving project, you'll help shape the future of this high-impact product, which benefits from extensive customer research and behavioral data, and a rapid launch cadence.

You’ll collaborate closely with a diverse, cross-functional team of designers, researchers, writers, engineers, and product managers to deliver best‑in‑class experiences. This role requires both big‑picture vision and meticulous attention to detail as you bring our bold product roadmap to life for hundreds of millions of customers world‑wide.

Key job responsibilities

A day in the life

• Partner cross-functionally with research and product to deeply understand customer needs and translate them into strategic, user‑centered experiences.
• Develop visually compelling visual design solutions that work for UI, PR, and marketing channels
• Collaborate with designers across the Alexa for Shopping and broader Shopping teams.
• Leverage strong design and business acumen to transform conceptual ideas into exceptional, scalable solutions.
• Create a variety of design artifacts (e.g., wireframes, prototypes, videos) to test, evangelise, and deliver your ideas.
• Learn and grow through hands‑on work with our Leads and Principals, and a dedicated mentor paired with you from day one.

Basic Qualifications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
