Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a hands-on UX/UI Designer to translate requirements and brand direction into polished, production-ready digital experiences. You will support ecommerce websites, extend existing design systems, and collaborate with UX leadership and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality design work.

Proficiency in Figma, experience with responsive web designs, and a strong eye for typography and accessibility are essential.

Overview:

• This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for a Designer who can translate requirements, wireframes, existing patterns, and brand direction into polished, production-ready digital experiences.
• Support ongoing work across our websites and help maintain consistency within established design systems.
• The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Figma, comfortable working within existing systems, and able to move efficiently across multiple workstreams.
• This role will partner closely with UX leadership, e-com partners, and other designers to deliver high-quality design work.

Duties:

• Translate business requirements, wireframes, user flows, and creative direction into detailed responsive designs based on our requirements
• Extend and apply existing design system components, patterns, variables, and styles across new and existing experiences
• Create and refine reusable Figma components when established system patterns do not fully support a design or business need
• Maintain organized, accurate, and development-ready Figma files
• Prepare design specifications, interaction details, responsive behavior, annotations, and supporting documentation for engineering handoff
• Support production updates, design iterations, content changes, and feature enhancements across ecommerce workstreams
• Partner with UX leadership and cross-functional teams to review requirements, resolve design questions, and iterate efficiently
• Collaborate with front-end engineering during implementation to clarify design intent and support visual quality assurance
• Review developed experiences and document visual, interaction, responsive, and accessibility issues
• Help identify inconsistencies, outdated patterns, and opportunities to improve component reuse
• Participate in design reviews and contribute practical recommendations within the scope of assigned projects

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in UX/UI, product design, ecommerce design, or a related digital design discipline
• Strong proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, components, variants, variables, prototyping, and shared libraries
• Experience producing detailed, responsive web designs for desktop and mobile
• Experience working within and contributing to established design systems
• Strong visual design skills, with attention to typography, spacing, hierarchy, layout, and interaction details
• Ability to take direction, work within defined requirements, and independently execute high-quality design work
• Experience preparing organized design files and clear handoff documentation for engineering teams
• Understanding of accessibility standards and their application within digital product design
• Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, Brand, Marketing, and UX partners
• Ability to leverage PowerPoint or other presentation tools to support communication and stakeholder reviews
• Portfolio demonstrating polished UI execution, responsive ecommerce or product design, and component-based design work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing for Shopify or another ecommerce platform
• Experience supporting ecommerce replatforming, redesign, or optimization initiatives
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools
• Experience conducting design QA against developed experiences
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, React, or component-based front-end frameworks
• Experience working in an Agile or iterative product development environment
• This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused primarily on design production and delivery
• Will work within established UX direction, brand standards, project priorities, and design system foundations
