Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Design Intern to help launch bold initiatives for in-vehicle experiences. You will work with a team in GM’s Human Interface Design organization on complex design challenges that span vehicles, digital platforms, and design systems.

We value collaboration, strong communication, and the ability to distill complex subjects for a wide audience. The internship is hybrid, with expectations to be onsite near Warren, MI several days per week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in UX, HCI, or related field.
• Strong interest in design for vehicles and digital platforms.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team to craft premier user experiences across products and platforms.
• Balance user needs with technical constraints and business goals.
• Develop production interaction designs following GM design guidelines.
• Create deliverables: sketches, mockups, animations, prototypes.
• Release production specs and assets to software teams.
• Present work to peers and leadership.
• Work with product teams and engineers to implement UI designs.
