Job summary

General Motors' Human Interface Design team is shaping the future of how people interact with our vehicles—through immersive visuals and intuitive interfaces. As part of the Advanced UX group, you’ll explore next‑gen in‑vehicle interactions through conceptual visualization, rapid prototyping, and 2D/3D design.

This role emphasizes collaboration with design, engineering, product, and suppliers to create scalable design systems and polished assets that drive major product decisions.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in UX/Product/Human Interface design.
  • A portfolio showing end-to-end UX, prototyping, and visual storytelling.
  • Experience with complex interaction design and systems thinking.
  • Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools such as ProtoPie.

Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced UX concepts and visual directions for future in-vehicle experiences.
  • Create scalable design systems and visual languages across platforms.
  • Produce concept visuals: 2D illustrations, UI explorations, motion studies.
  • Build low-to-high fidelity prototypes to support decisions and handoff.
  • Iterate on user flows and motion behaviors based on feedback.
  • Deliver polished design assets ready for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Present ideas effectively to design, engineering, product, and suppliers.
