Job summary

Brigham Young University is seeking an UTTR Field Manager to lead a hands-on field team supporting wildlife surveys, environmental monitoring, and data collection at the Utah Test and Training Range. Qualifications

• Experience working with plants and animals and knowledge of plant and wildlife identification
• Performing data collection in harsh conditions safely
• Operating trucks on dirt roads and driving ATVs; ATV training and certification will need to be completed before field work
• A basic understanding of how to create year-end reports
• Experience leading and supervising field crews and managing budgets to support program goals
• ATV certification
• Ability to perform basic computer operations including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

UTTR Field Manager (part-time, 28 hours/week)

Join a hands‑on research team supporting wildlife surveys, environmental monitoring, and field data collection at the Utah Test and Training Range. This position works alongside full‑time and student technicians and provides essential support to a full‑time research staff member. The UTTR Field Manager helps ensure field projects are conducted safely, accurately, and efficiently—from collecting and managing data to coordinating crews, maintaining equipment, and supporting reports for Hill Air Force Base and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

What you’ll do in this position:
