Job summary

Los Alamitos Unified School District is seeking an UTK classroom aide to assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for Universal Transitional Kindergarten students. The role focuses on creating a safe, nurturing environment and supporting individual and small group instruction.

You will help monitor student progress and behavior, prepare materials, and assist with activities both indoors and outdoors while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus six semester units in early childhood education or child development.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with developmentally appropriate curriculum under supervision.
• Support individual or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Observe and report student progress and behavior.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain simple records.
• Lead indoor and outdoor activities as planned.
• Help supervise students to ensure health and safety.
