Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Utilization Review Specialist to join our corporate team in New Jersey. This full-time role focuses on timely client authorizations, level-of-care determinations, and coordination with clinical and billing teams to maintain accurate documentation and continuity of care across facilities.

You will work cross-functionally with treatment teams and leaders to optimize UR workflows, standardize documentation, and support compliance with payer requirements while

Qualifications

• Minimum one year in behavioral health, healthcare or treatment setting.
• Experience with utilization review, insurance authorization or medical billing is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication required.

Responsibilities

• Field calls, emails and documentation requests related to authorizations.
• Ensure timely approval and continuation of services at the appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate UR workflows across facilities and with billing and clinical teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic records and ensure payer-ready documentation.
