Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. in Clive, Iowa, is seeking a skilled UR Coordinator for our behavioral health hospital.

The role partners with clinicians, staff and patients to ensure quality care and efficient use of resources. Responsibilities include interpreting treatment plans and records, coordinating admissions screening, developing treatment plans, liaising with external case managers and managed care organizations, and guiding discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required – in Nursing is preferred.
• A minimum of three to five years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
• RN is required – BSN highly preferred.
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with healthcare providers, clinical staff, and patients to promote quality care outcomes and efficient use of resources.
• Interpret treatment plans and medical records in accordance with current standards of care.
• Interpret participating Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) certification requirements.
• Manage admissions screening and establishment of treatment plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning with the treatment team and external case managers.
