Job summary

El Paso Behavioral Health System, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a UR Coordinator to manage inpatient insurance certifications and recertifications, and to coordinate with external case managers and managed care organizations while supporting the treatment team.

Required: a bachelor’s or master’s in social work, mental health, nursing, or related field and at least two years in healthcare or managed care, with experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, utilization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health, nursing, or related degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company.
• Experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, utilization management, and/or case management preferred.

Responsibilities

• UR Coordinator contacts external case managers/managed care organizations for certification and recertification of insurance benefits throughout the patient’s stay and assists the treatment team in understanding the insurance company’s requirements for continued stay and discharge planning.
