Job summary

The UR Coordinator evaluates medical records to determine severity of illness and appropriate level of care, functioning as a liaison with patients, families, and insurance providers to advocate for timely services and reimbursement. Experience coordinating across departments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters level MSW required.
• RN license in the state of Pennsylvania required.
• Licensure in LSW/LSCW required.
• 3+ years of experience in behavioral health setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with common computer applications and databases.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medical records to determine severity of illness and appropriate level of care.
• Serve as a liaison for patients, families, and insurance companies.
• Negotiate and advocate for length of stay and level of care.
• Oversee UR activities with other departments to ensure reimbursement.
