Job summary

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is an inpatient psychiatric hospital and a joint venture with Universal Health Services. The Utilization Management Coordinator leads payer-based reviews, collaborates with social services and nursing, and guides care level decisions to ensure accurate documentation and timely payments.

Qualifications include a psych-related Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) and 1–3 years in utilization management, with RN or Social Work licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of utilization management experience recommended.
• RN or social work licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily clinical reviews with all payer types to secure authorization for continued treatment.
• Works with hospital operations to ensure documentation aligns with patient conditions.
• Educates the multidisciplinary team on level of care requirements and payer expectations.
• Ensures denials are followed up weekly with detailed documentation.
• Maintains Midas documentation daily to ensure full payment.
