Job summary

Quail Run Behavioral Health Hospital in Phoenix seeks a dynamic Utilization Management Coordinator to join our utilization review team. This PRN role supports certification and recertification of benefits for patients during their stay and collaborates with the treatment team to meet insurance requirements.

The UM Coordinator advocates for patient access and communicates with external case managers and physicians to facilitate discharge planning and continued services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s prepared healthcare professional (Counseling, Psychology or Social Work) required.
• Master’s preferred.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company; Psych Hospital experience preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with external case managers/managed care organizations for certification and recertification of insurance benefits.
• Assist the treatment team in understanding the insurance company’s requirements for continued stay and discharge planning.
• Advocate for the patient’s access to services during treatment team meetings and through individual physician contact.

Education

Bachelor’s prepared healthcare professional (Counseling, Psychology or Social Work)

Master’s degree preferred
