Job summary

Ridgeview Institute Monroe is seeking a dedicated Utilization Management Coordinator (UM) to support a multidisciplinary treatment team. The role focuses on coordinating care across age groups, reviewing treatment plans, and ensuring appropriate utilization of services to optimize patient outcomes.

You will maintain communication with physicians and nurses, track insurance reviews, and document activities to support safe transfers and timely discharges.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of healthcare or managed care experience.
• Experience with patient assessment, treatment planning, utilization management, or case management.
• Degree preferred in social work, mental health, nursing, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Review treatment plans and advocate for additional services as indicated.
• Promote efficient resource use for patients.
• Ensure patient rights are upheld throughout care.
• Maintain ongoing contact with attending physician, program manager, and nursing staff.
• Collaborate on discharge planning and continued stay decisions.
• Advocate appropriate level of care and program placement.
• Coordinate with program staff for transfers or discharges.
• Document case management activities diligently.
• Track insurance reviews and ensure timely completion.
• Prepare and maintain statistical reports and findings.

• Review the treatment plan and advocate for additional services as indicated.
• Promote effective use of resources for patients.

• Collaborate with the treatment team regarding continued stay and discharge planning issues.
• Advocate that the patient is placed in the appropriate level of care and program.
• Interface with program staff to facilitate a smooth transition at the time of transfer or discharge.
• Maintain documentation related to case management activities.
• Ensure insurance reviews are tracked and completed in a timely manner.
• Maintain statistical reports and prepare documentation of significant findings.

Your Experience Matters What We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health, nursing, or a related degree preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company, with experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, utilization management, and/or case management.

Compensation
