Job summary

DBM Global is seeking a skilled Utility Yardman to move steel, materials, and equipment within the plant and yard in Stockton, CA. You will load/unload trucks, operate forklifts, and assist with banding steel, all while maintaining a safe work environment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of forklift experience handling 30,000 lbs. or more. Cranes, rigging, and related equipment knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and two years of experience operating 30,000 lbs. forklifts or bigger.
• Experience operating cranes, rigging, and forklifts to move steel and equipment.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance instructions; basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Move steel out of the shop to prevent production delays.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers; inventory transport.
• Operate and maintain yard equipment; keep work area clean and safe.

We are looking for a professional with a growth mindset who desires a progressive long-term career.Core ResponsibilitiesMove steel out of the shop on a timely basis so as not to hinder the production of fabricated steel.Load and unload trucks and trailers.Load and unload paint racks and sandblasting racks.Band steel to pallets and in bundles using the banding machine.Operate forklifts in a safe manner.Operation and maintenance of all applicable equipment.Other duties may be assigned.Transport material by a forklift as needed and required.Keeps work area organized and clean.Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirementsEducation/Training - Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED), and two years of experience operating 30,000 lbs. forklifts or bigger.Specialized Knowledge – Certificates & LicensesEquipment Knowledge & Skills – may include but not limited to cranes, rigging, and forklifts.Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
