Job summary

DBM Global is seeking a Production Helper to support fabrication of structural metal products for commercial, bridge, and industrial projects. You will assist in lifting, loading, cleaning, and preparing materials, while adhering to safety protocols and PPE guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and about a year of relevant experience; a tacking test on various positions is required. This full-time site-based position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 12 months of experience in fabrication or related field.
  • Must pass tacking test on Flat/Horizontal/Vertical/Overhead positions.

Responsibilities

  • Lift, position, and remove workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
  • Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, dies, and work in process.
  • Clean and prepare metal for fabrication, welding, painting, or shipping.
  • Pick up and transport scrap from work areas.
  • Maintain clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform other routine duties as assigned.
  • Assist fellow employees as directed.
  • Follow safety rules and PPE requirements.

We are looking for a professional with a growth mindset who desires a progressive long-term career.Core ResponsibilitiesLifts, positions, and removes workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or truck.Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.Picks up and trucks scrap from work areas.Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.Perform other routine duties.Assist fellow employees as directed.Pass the tacking test on the following positions: Flat, Horizontal, Vertical and Overhead.Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirementsEducation/Training - Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 12 months experienceSpecialized Knowledge – Certificates & LicensesEquipment Knowledge & Skills – Equipment generally used includes but is not limited to overhead cranes, forklifts and hand grinders.Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
