General responsibility is to keep kitchens clean and organized. **E****S****S****E****NTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following.* Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.* Sweep and/or scrub floors.* Dump garbage cans located in kitchen, dish room, and seating areas as necessary. Clean garbage cans with water or steam.* Scrub and polish counter tops, steam tables, fountain equipment and other related equipment.* Perform cleaning duties to keep equipment and facilities sanitary.* Clean and polish shelves, walls, furniture, and/or equipment in food service areas or other areas of restaurants as needed.* Cleans and degreases ovens, stoves, vents and other related kitchen equipment.* Regularly wash dishes, pots and pans as needed to backfill dishwashing position.* Stocks, stores, and straightens up according to procedures.* Must keep work area neat, organized and free of slip and trip hazards.* Other duties may be assigned.**AUTHORITY/S****UPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**: None## Qualifications**Q****U****A****LIFICATIONS**: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
