DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Performs manual tasks involving the maintenance and repairs of pumps and associated equipment within the lift station department under any given weather condition. Maintains and lubricates wastewater pumps, operates wastewater cleaning machines, operates pumps and motors, and maintains hoist materials and tools. Maintains property around stations by cutting grass, cutting shrubbery, and filling in cave-ins around stations. Must perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Must have a valid Louisiana driver's license.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must possess knowledge of standard hand tools, pumps, and equipment in wastewater. Must have the ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to perform heavy physical work under varying weather conditions. Must have the ability to distinguish between colors. Must have physical stamina, manual dexterity, eye-hand-foot coordination, and the ability and willingness to follow oral and written instructions.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Employee will be required a minimum State Class I Certification in Sewer Collections prior to hire and will be expected to receive a Class II Certification in Sewer Collections within one year from hire date.
