Chesterfield County’s Utilities Department is seeking a dedicated Utility Worker to join a repair and maintenance crew. This role involves assisting in the upkeep of the county’s underground water distribution system, installing and repairing water service lines, meters, and related components, and responding to customer concerns about service.

Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and on-call duties.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of maintenance-related experience preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools (shovels, picks) and power tools.
• Good communication and customer relations skills.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in maintenance, repair, and installation of water service lines and meters.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock of a construction truck (rolling warehouse).
• Respond to customer concerns about water service and troubleshoot issues.
• Complete service requests and work orders on county systems.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Drive utility trucks with trailers to transport materials and equipment.
