Queen Anne's County, Maryland Government is seeking an entry level position to support the operation and maintenance of the Sanitary District. The role involves handling customer inquiries, assisting with district systems, and performing basic maintenance tasks under supervision.

LOCATION:Queen Anne's County, Maryland
SHIFT:Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM-4:30PM.
The salary for this position is the minimum of the range. This position is entry level and performs a range of manual tasks and services that support the operation and maintenance of the Queen Anne’s County Sanitary District.
Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers written in English.Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.Ability to perform these operations using standard units of weight, volume, and distance measurement.
Ability to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Possession of a Class C Maryland Motor Vehicle Operator’s License (or the equivalent from another issuing state) or the ability to obtain such a license within thirty (30) daysof employment to position.
Within sixty (60) days of hire must possess the applicable temporary certificate(s) (C2, T4, T5, W5A) as required by the division within the Sanitary District to which assigned, as issued by the Maryland Department of the Environment.
The following National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training is required within the first year of employment:
A High School Diploma or a GED is required.No prior experience or training required.
Regularly required to operate a vehicle; stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; smell and hear.
Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work is performed in both inside and outside weather conditions.Due to the nature of this position, outside work activities must routinely be performed under extremely adverse weather conditions.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with higher levels of noise in some areas.Periodically exposed to toxic and caustic chemicals, raw sewage and the risk of disease or infection.May be required to enter confined spaces.
This position has been designated as an ESSENTIAL POSITION and may be required to report to or remain on duty when County offices are closed due to inclement weather or for other reasons.
An employee in this position may be required to work shift work, overtime, weekends, and holidays and/or remain on standby for a call back to work.
Employees must conform to applicable policies and safety rules.
This position is one within the Queen Anne’s County Civil Service System.An employee must serve a period of twelve months’ probation during which he or she may be terminated without notice, cause, hearing or right of appeal.
