Job summary

Daubert Chemical Company in Forest View, IL, is hiring a Utility Worker for our fast-paced chemical manufacturing plant. You will support production, operate forklifts, and help maintain safety and quality standards on the floor.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to read and write English, and strong teamwork. Overtime and shift hours are part of the job, with a base pay of $21.00/hr plus a $1.50/hr third-shift premium and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in production processes including mixing, blending, pouring, and packaging chemicals and products; record batch information.
• Locate drums, kegs, totes, and pails; transport as needed using forklift.
• Perform quality control checks on materials and products to meet specifications.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with counts.
• Maintain records and documentation related to production activities and QC checks.
• Perform housekeeping and safe equipment maintenance per 5S and SOPs.
• Follow all safety rules and wear PPE.

We are open Sunday - Friday. Some overtime is mandatory, and work hours may be adjusted for necessary business reasons, e.g. training, order demand.

• 3rd Shift 9:00 pm - 5:30 am (Sunday - Thursday)

Utility Workers are responsible for a variety of tasks including general labor across the plant, supporting the production process, and ensuring the smooth operation of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in various stages of production process, including mixing, blending, pouring, and packaging chemicals and chemical products. Records required information on the batch sheet
• Reviews drumming sheets. Locates drums, kegs, totes, and pails as needed for orders. Transports items to filling area via forklift.
• Performs quality control checks on raw materials, intermediate products and finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
• Monitors inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, reporting discrepancies, and assisting in inventory counts as needed.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation related to production activities and quality control checks
• Performs activities to safely clean, secure and maintain equipment and work areas as required. Participate in housekeeping in the facility according to 5S
• Follows, without exception, all work instructions, SOP’s, and safety rules, including use of all proper PPE and other safety equipment.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• High school diploma or GED required. Candidates with 3 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
• Previous experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to read, write and speak English
• Basic math skills required
• Good problem-solving ability; makes efficient use of time within shift directives.
• Ability to be trained and safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials and finished goods between departments and warehouses. Minimum 1 year experience.
• Works well within a team and able to follow specific directions
• Punctuality and excellent attendance are expected and required
• Ability to meet physical demands of a fast-paced work environment
