Job summary

Transdev in Vallejo, CA is hiring a Utility Worker/Service Employee to perform basic vehicle servicing duties with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service. The role requires maintaining fleet cleanliness, fueling buses, logging fluids and small repairs as needed.

The candidate will drive, maneuver and park buses, report maintenance issues, and support shop operations. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required; DOT screening may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• DOT drug testing and physical may apply.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fleet vehicle cleanliness (interior & exterior).
• Drive, maneuver, and park buses.
• Fuel buses, replenish fluids, and log fluids.
• Download drive cameras and probes in fare boxes.
• Perform light maintenance in shop areas and fueling stations.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Other duties as required.

Physical Requirements

Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.

Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces

Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
