Job summary

SSP America in Milwaukee, located inside General Mitchell International Airport, is hiring Utility Workers to keep our restaurants clean, sanitized, and compliant with safety standards.

Responsibilities include cleaning surfaces, equipment, and dining areas; unloading and stocking supplies; assisting guests and servers; and maintaining hygienic work areas in a fast-paced airport environment. Ideal candidates are 18+, with 6 months of food service experience and a high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 6 months of experience in a food service environment.
• Verbal and written communication.
• Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.
• Experience handling guest service scenarios.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize surfaces and equipment to meet sanitary standards.
• Clear and reset tables and transport serviceware to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Load/unload supply trucks and stock items in storage/work areas.
• Assist guests with requests and communicate needs to servers/supervisor.
• Remove refuse to designated areas and maintain hygienic work areas.
• Identify and address cleanliness gaps and safety hazards as required.

We are currently hiring for Utility Workers to work at our resturaunts located inside the General Mitchell International Airport, located in Milwaukee WI

Our Utility positions at SSP have the very important role of keeping our restaurants and units clean and sanitized for both our guests and our team

Here are a few things you can expect when you join our team as a Utility Worker

• Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
• Maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment (i.e., floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas, etc.)
• Removes refuse to designated areas.
• Clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings, as needed and transports service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
• Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place.
• Clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards; may include the use of heavy equipment
• Assist all guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server/supervisor
• Load/unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas
• Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
• Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this position has:

• At least 18 years old
• 6 months' experience working in food service environment
• High school diploma preferred
• Verbal and written communication
• Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and receive instructions
• Experience in dealing with problems involving guest service
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time
