Job summary

SSP America is hiring friendly Servers to work at our location inside the Milwaukee Airport. As a Server, you will greet guests, take orders, and help ensure a smooth dining experience in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have some restaurant or retail experience, basic math for POS, and strong English communication. Training and opportunities for advancement are provided.

Qualifications

• 6 months' experience in retail or food service preferred.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests.
• Experience handling customer service issues.
• Basic math for cash handling and POS transactions.
• Food handlers permit and brand certification as required.
• Ability to remember and promote menu items.
• Ability to operate POS to pre-check orders and close checks.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and offer suggestions regarding food, beverages, and services.
• Accurately input orders into the POS system.
• Prepare dishes for service, including soups, salads, pies, desserts, and coffee.
• Observe guests to anticipate needs and respond to requests.
• Clear all dishes and balance and reconcile checks.
• Clear and reset counters or tables at the end of each course.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are currently hiring for Servers to work at our restatauntslocated inside the Milwaukee Airport.

At SSP America, our Servers are one of our most important customer service roles. Here are a few things you can expect when you join our team as a Server:

• Answer questions and offer suggestions regarding food, beverages, and services of the facility
• Accurately input orders into the POS system
• Prepare dishes for service, to include ladling soup, tossing salads, cutting portions of pie and desserts, and brewing coffee
• Observe guests to anticipate their needs and respond to any additional requests
• Clear all dishes away from table
• Balance and reconcile all assigned open and closed checks by totaling bills and accepting payments
• Clear and reset all counters or tables at the conclusion of each course
• Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate for this position has:

• 6 months' experience working in retail or food service environment preferred
• High school diploma preferred
• Verbal and written communication
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders
• Experience in dealing with problems involving customer service
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, etc.
• Food handlers permit, as required by law
• Brand certification, as required
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items
• Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check an order & close out a check
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time
