The Role:

The General Laborer position is responsible for acting as an ambassador for the company in all its interactions with the public, receiving and processing metals, operating equipment as needed, and adhering to all company policies and directives. This is a general labor and physically demanding position.

Responsibilities:

1. Work at the direction of the Yard Manager.
2. Receive and unload customers as directed.
3. Assist with processing and cleaning materials as needed.
4. Operate a forklift after certification.
5. Operate or assist with baling operations.
6. Clean and prepare assorted metals for sale.
7. Present a hospitable and positive face of the company in all public interactions.

Location & Commitments:

1. 95%+ of time will be spent at C&D SCRAP METALS. Some travel to other job sites may be required on rare occasions.
2. Full-time.

Position Requirements:

1. Be able to lift to 75 lbs.
2. Strong physical, mental, and manual stamina, including hand-eye coordination.
3. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Schedule:

1. 8 hour shift
2. Monday to Friday
3. Overtime
4. Weekends as needed

Expected hours: 38 – 45 per week
