Primary Role

• Performs skilled tasks related to construction, operation, and maintenance of the water distribution system, including fire and domestic services, meter settings, water mains, and valves.
• Drives trucks equipped with dump bodies to transport materials.

Key Accountabilities

• Performs tasks safely, prioritizing the safety of colleagues and the public.
• Handles pipe cutting, threading, joining, and installation of repair sleeves and meters.
• Performs excavation, barricading, and traffic control measures.
• Operates and maintains water system equipment, reads gauges, and manages water flow.
• Backfills excavations and installs/removes water meters.
• Maintains company property and grounds.
• Drives company vehicles and operates related equipment.
• Performs other assigned duties.

Knowledge/Skills

• Broad knowledge of distribution system components and installation.

Experience/Education

• Experience in water distribution systems.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Certifications/Licenses

As required by state; candidate must obtain necessary licenses within the designated timeframe.

Work Environment

Primarily outdoors, exposed to weather, mechanical parts, chemicals, and noise. May work at heights or in humid conditions.
