Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company seeks a UVM Technician to join our field team in Muskogee, OK. This on-site role supports electric/gas utilities, performing vegetation management and data collection with handheld devices, maps, and GPS.

You will coordinate with clients and crews, inspect rights of way, and engage landowners while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Opportunities for advancement and industry training are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform essential duties consistently.
• ISA Certified Arborist or ability to obtain within 6–12 months; pesticide applicator license.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Proficient in computer software: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Two or four year degree in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry or environmental science.
• Experience with GIS or digital mapping software.

Responsibilities

• Work with major electric/gas utility systems and address their forestry needs.
• Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation.
• Communicate with landowners regarding work on or near their property.
• Audit work completed by contractors.
• Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, planners, and vegetation crews.
• Inspect utility rights of ways and identify vegetation incompatible with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Education and Qualifications:An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty consistently and satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Professional or Collegiate Practical Tree Work Experience
• Proficiency with local Tree Identification and Tree Physiology. ISA Certified Arborist or ability to obtain in 6-12 months. Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License.
• Current Driver’s License and Driving Record in good standing.
• Proficient working knowledge of computers. Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Two or four year degree in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry, environmental science or a related discipline
• Experience with GIS or other digital mapping software
