Job summary

Reynolds Excavation, Demolition & Utilities, a CRH Company, is seeking a qualified Utility Underground Operator in Draper, Utah. This skilled role requires safe operation of construction equipment and adherence to safety standards while locating utilities and maintaining records.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license, with MSHA certification preferred. Training may be available to enhance skills and safety practices in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 1–2 years related experience or training.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • MSHA Certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions; write simple correspondence.

  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Locate utilities and buried lines prior to digging.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • Keep time and material records.
  • Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.

Utility Underground Operator - Draper, UT (Construction)

Position Overview

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of various types of construction equipment including but not limited to Loaders, Back Hoes, Track Hoes, Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Etc. Training may be available.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties & Functions)
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
  • Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
  • Keep time and material records.
  • Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
  • Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
  • Travel from interstate highway to rural dirt roads from various locations.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions

  • Valid driver's license required.
