Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a skilled utility tree trimmer to join our outdoor team in Florida. You will climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems and perform pruning and removal for major electric utilities, while following industry pruning guidelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete Davey Tree orientation upon hire.
• Must complete First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses upon hire.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Airbrake endorsement.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist or TCIA Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for utility providers as directed.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
