Job summary

Aggreko in Richmond, VA is seeking a Utility Technician to join our service center. You will coordinate and perform basic maintenance per work instructions, conduct safety checks, and provide first-level technical advice to customers.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 0–3 years in a yard or warehouse, and a strong safety mindset. You may work overtime, travel, and be on-call as needed, with growth opportunities in a hands-on environment with new technology.

Responsibilities

• Based out of our Richmond, VA service center
• Carry out basic maintenance as per work instructions in accordance with Aggreko standards
• Ensure that the workplace is well maintained and clean.
• Maintain documentation either paper and electronic as per site specifics.
• Adhere to 5S and QHSE procedures.
• Work strictly in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Load and unload rental equipment and materials with large and small forklifts
• Prepare and verify quality/accuracy of counts of rental equipment prior to delivery
• Clean and put away rental equipment upon return to service center
• Keep the yard and warehouse clean, organized and up to safety standards
• Wash rental equipment
• Inspect and repair cable

Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Utility Technician based in Richmond, VA. You’ll coordinate and undertake a range of maintenance activities within defined operating procedures, conduct safety inspections and comply with Aggreko's safety regulations. Provide first level technical advice to customers and may resolve/troubleshoot implementation problems. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil-free air without end. What You’ll Do As a Utility Technician

You Are

Other Essential Job Requirements

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs.), push/pull (80 lbs.), carry (60 lbs.), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs.), stoop, kneel and squat
