Job summary

DPC Services is seeking a Utility Technician to support installation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewer, and related infrastructure in Middle Georgia. You will work both independently and on a team, delivering high-quality service and technical expertise on projects of varying size and scope.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance with regulations, and accurate documentation. You’ll read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and participate in emergency response as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade school preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Active DOT medical card preferred
  • Prior experience in utility work, construction, or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to pull trailers carrying large equipment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and utility regulations.
  • Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and physical assessments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment related to utility work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and instructions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety awareness.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to reliability and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of utility lines and associated equipment.
  • Operate tools, machinery, and vehicles safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards, verify job specifications, and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Assist with locating and marking utilities prior to excavation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical manuals.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Complete accurate and timely job reports, logs, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients regarding project status and needs.
  • Support training and mentoring of junior technicians as directed.
  • Participate in emergency response work, including after-hours or weekend shifts as needed.

About the role

A Technician within the UtilityDivision is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of utility systems, including water, sewer, and related infrastructure. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
