About the role

A Technician within the Utility Division is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance and repair of utility systems, including water, sewer and related infrastructure. The role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, client requirements and regulatory guidelines. The technician works independently and as part of a team, delivering high-quality service and technical expertise.

What you’ll do
  • Perform installation, maintenance and repair of utility lines and associated equipment.
  • Operate tools, machinery and vehicles safely in accordance with company procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify hazards, verify job specifications and ensure quality standards.
  • Assist with locating and marking utilities prior to excavation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders and technical manuals.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies and industry best practices.
  • Complete accurate and timely job reports, logs and other required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members and clients about project status and needs.
  • Support training and mentoring of junior technicians as directed.
  • Participate in emergency response work, including after‑hours or weekend shifts as needed.
