The U.S. Department of the Interior seeks a qualified utility systems operator to manage and maintain 250+ miles of collection and distribution lines and 3,400 water meters serving millions of visitors across Wyoming communities.
Responsibilities include coordinating with the Chief-Utilities Branch, ensuring compliance with state and federal water and wastewater regulations to protect public health and safety, and performing inspections and repairs of water systems as needed.
The incumbent is responsible for the operation and maintenance of 250+miles of collection and distribution lines and 3,400 water meters serving nearly 5 million visitors per year across 14 geographically dispersed communities.
The incumbent is responsible for the operation and maintenance of 250+miles of collection and distribution lines. In collaboration with the Chief-Utilities Branch, ensures compliance with the State of Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality as well the Federal EPA rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to water and wastewater to ensure public health and safety. Accomplish employee performance appraisals, provide counseling, recommend disciplinary action or award when necessary. Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment such as wastewater treatment and collections systems, water treatment and distribution systems.
