Job summary

City of Washington Terrace is seeking a full-time utility and facilities technician to support streets, water, wastewater, storm water, and City facilities maintenance under the Public Works Director and Assistant Director. The role offers learning opportunities and hands-on responsibilities across multiple systems and equipment.

Primary duties include following project assignments, delivering equipment and materials to sites, and assisting with snow removal during winter months.

Qualifications

• Learn and perform skilled duties related to streets, water transmission and distribution, wastewater collection, storm water control, and repair/maintenance of City facilities.
• Ability to operate and transport equipment, materials and manpower to project sites.
• Willingness to participate in snow removal duties.

Responsibilities

• Receive project assignments and completion schedules; take equipment, materials and manpower to the site and complete the project as directed.
• Assist with snow removal duties as part of winter operations.

Job description

This is a full-time classified position working under the direction of the Public Works Director and Assistant Public Works Director. Successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn and perform a variety of skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of utility service systems including streets, water transmission and distribution, wastewater collection, storm water control, and repair/maintenance of City roads, parks, water, storm water, and sewer systems, buildings, and other City facilities. Participate in snow removal duties.

Receives project assignments and completion schedules; takes assigned equipment, materials and manpower to the appropriate site and completes the project as directed
