Sunstates Security is currently hiring Utility Security Officers in the Charlotte, NC area. The Utility / Event Officer is an on-call officer position that covers posts as needed due to call-offs, staff shortages, or client-requested extra coverage. (Must have open availability)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain detailed notes on all sites trained at to provide seamless service to the clients when covering that post.
2. Work independently with minimal supervision.
3. Track time for posts worked and submit to Operations Manager no later than 10 AM on Friday.

Quality Standards:

1. Come to work whether called in or scheduled in advance; be on time and complete shift assignments (including overtime, if assigned). Refusal to accept assignments may result in failure to receive sufficient hours per week or removal from the UTILITY/EVENT program.
2. Maintain a neat, professional appearance and wear a complete and clean assigned uniform.
3. Must not smoke on any assigned post.
4. Exhibit a friendly and professional demeanor and provide quality customer service.
5. Communicate effectively (both verbal and written) and handle typical and crisis situations efficiently.
6. Understand and execute post orders, including enforcement of client and company policies, rules, and regulations.
7. Report all concerns to management noted on assigned sites.

Qualifications:

1. Must have a clean driving record if assigned to a driving post.
2. Generally, 1 year or more of security experience (Manager discretion).
3. Basic computer skills and cell phone literacy.
4. Good to excellent verbal and written skills.
5. Able to provide and deliver quality customer service.
6. Ability to make good decisions (judgment and common sense).
7. Ability to work a flexible schedule and to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as requested (open availability is a must).
8. Reliable transportation to get to the work site.
9. Well-motivated, able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
10. Must maintain reliable means of communication to be contacted by management.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
