Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business or Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Police Science, Security Management or a related field, and five (5) years of professional security management and/or security investigation experience including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.

Licenses and Certificates

Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License by time of appointment.

Job Responsibilities

1. Direct, oversee, coordinate, monitor and enforce security management activities to ensure physical security of all facilities to safeguard the welfare and assets of employees, customers, contractors, and visitors.
2. Serve as primary contact for El Paso Water security-related activities.
3. Oversee and monitor the security program for El Paso Water, coordinating with the Office Emergency Management, law enforcement, and federal agencies on emergency and security issues, including investigations.
4. Maintain and monitor internal controls for related security items including asset protection, access control systems, and video surveillance.
5. Review and develop security policies, protocols, and procedures; identify and recommend improvements to enhance security measures for public safety.
6. Organize incident response planning and investigation of security breaches; respond to and resolve inquiries, complaints, or unusual threats and situations.
7. Oversee assigned staff: schedule, assign, instruct, guide, and check work; appraise employee performance; provide training and development.
8. Conduct security audits and inspections; assist with external investigations affecting utility property and personnel.
9. Plan, organize, and conduct employee security education and awareness training drills.
