Job summary

Pearce is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician I to support utility-scale solar farms, focusing on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of inverters, DC systems, and power electronics. This is a 100% travel position, with on-site work at solar plants across North America.

Ideal candidates have 1–2+ years of utility-scale solar experience, strong safety knowledge per OSHA/NFPA 70E, and proficiency with testing equipment and basic office software. A company vehicle and tools are provided.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of utility-scale solar experience (solar farms / ground-mount systems).
• Experience working on megawatt-scale PV systems (NOT residential rooftop solar)
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills (inverters, DC systems, power electronics)
• Experience with solar O&M / maintenance work
• Working knowledge of OSHA / NFPA 70E safety standards
• Experience using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and testing equipment
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits
• Perform testing: LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, IR scans
• Perform operations and maintenance (O&M) on utility-scale solar plants
• Inspect completed work and ensure it meets quality and safety standards
• Enforce safety requirements (OSHA, NFPA 70E) on-site
• Diagnose system issues and resolve them in the field
• Complete work orders, service logs, and required documentation
• Operate and maintain company vehicle and tools
