Emerson is seeking a highly motivated Utility Sales Specialist to join the North American sales team. The role focuses on selling Greenlee & RIDGID tools to large Utilities in Texas, with coordination across Territory Managers and field demonstrations in Dallas, Houston, or Austin regions.

The position requires 3+ years in related sales or electrical fields, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 50% including overnight stays.

  • Develop and manage annual business plans and monthly/yearly sales forecasts.
  • Own relationships with Key Distributor Partners and End Users; act as product subject matter expert.

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly motivated sales professional to join our North American sales team. As an electrical Utility Sales Specialist, you will sell, promote, and demonstrate the Greenlee & RIDGID brands of tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will reside in Dallas, Houston or Austin area. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager for the South Region. Your job will offer unique perspectives and insights into how customers view their business and align their insights and priorities while tying those insights back to Emerson Professional Tools' unique product differentiators. You will drive two-way communications, clearly articulate our value proposition, and engage the end-customer in jointly addressing their business priorities. Our primary sales focus is on the large Utilities in the assigned region, and you will additionally coordinate with the local Territory Manager's activity in this market.

Current Territory: Texas (primarily within Dallas and Houston markets), occasional travel to NM and AZ markets.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Accountable for the direction, coordination, and growth of all utility market sales through direct customer contact and close coordination with local ProTools Territory Managers.
  • Additionally, the ability to work in a matrix-managed environment which includes providing coaching and direction to regional Territory Managers.
  • Performing field product demonstrations, training, & technical support with end-users and distribution channel partners.
  • Driving strategic new products sales and solutions to expand markets and share.
  • Developing, presenting, & executing annual business plans to deliver incremental sales growth.
  • Developing and Managing a monthly/yearly sales forecast.
  • Developing & owning relationships with both Key Distributor Partners and End Users.
  • Being the subject matter expert for the product, applications, & pricing program for your given market.
  • Supporting regional & national organizations through training and special projects execution.
  • Uses computers frequently; interfaces with the other employees and customers by telephone, mail, electronic mail, and/or in person.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum 3 years of related Sales, Marketing, or Electrical field experience in the utilities market.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work in a matrix-managed environment, including coaching, mentoring, and providing selling support to Territory Managers.
  • Solid business acumen, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated success in formulating, presenting, executing, & measuring Business Plans.
  • A proven track record and successful history of achieving goals and sales targets in the Electrical Utility market.
  • Experience with distribution channels, with emphasis on Electrical and Utility industrial products.
  • Safely lift, carry, and maneuver various industrial tools and product inventory to unload, assemble / disassemble, and position equipment for live client demonstrations and trade shows.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to include over night stay, sometimes a week or more at a time.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available for this role).

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Industrial Distribution, or other relevant disciplines
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or technical support of B2B Sales in the Electrical Utility Market.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with electrical, utility, or related tools.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint; CRM Application experience a plus.
