Lignetics Inc. in Seymour, MO is seeking a Utility/Relief Operator to support pellet mill operations. Training begins on 1st shift, with a main shift assignment and coverage across all shifts as needed.

The role requires safety‑minded individuals who can operate in a fast-paced wood pellet production environment. The position includes responsibilities such as monitoring temperatures, moisture, density, and daily reporting, with emphasis on English communication and adherence to safety protocols.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years production experience in an industrial setting highly preferred.
• Requires working knowledge of all aspects of the production process.
• Process Controls experience a plus.
• Ability to understand and react to verbal safety commands, alarms, and hazard alerts in English in a Manufacturing setting.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and adjust pellet mills and regular dryer inlet/outlet temperatures per specifications, monitoring bin levels.
• Regulate material mix to achieve optimal pellet moisture and density; communicate mix of sawdust and shavings.
• Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, spot fires, and hot bearings.
• Maintain pellet mill feed rates and adjust/change pellet mill rolls/dies as needed.
• Complete a daily report with temperature readings, material moisture, density checks, daily average, total mill hours, gas hours, and estimated tonnage.

Utility/Relief Operator

Shift Schedule:

Must be FLEXIBLE. Will be assigned a main shift (Either 1st/ 2nd or 3rd), and then needs to be available to work any shift as needed for coverage. Training will be on 1st shift for the first few months.

Salary: $28.00/hour

** Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Pellet Mill Operation and Dryer Regulation

• Operate and adjust pellet mills, and regular dryer inlet and outlet temperatures per specifications, overseeing and monitoring bin levels.
• Regulate material mix to obtain the optimal pellet moisture and pellet density ratio, keeping pellet moisture under specified limits per compacted cubic foot by communicating the ratio of fresh and old sawdust and wet and dry shavings.
• Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, spot fires, and hot bearings.
• Maintain pellet mill feed rates and adjust or change pellet mill rolls/dies accordingly
• Complete a daily report detailing temperature readings, dried material moisture, and perform density checks per specifications, and the average for the day, total mill hours, natural gas hours and estimate tonnage
• Additional accountabilities as required

Pellet Mill Operation and Dryer Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• One to two years production experience in an industrial setting highly preferred
• Requires working knowledge of all aspects of the production process
• Process Controls Experience a plus
• Ability to immediately understand and react to verbal safety commands, audio alarms, and written hazard alerts in English in a Manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in English to accurately read, interpret, and execute equipment lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols and machine operation manuals.
• Sufficient English verbal skills to clearly and instantly report machine malfunctions, near-misses, or unsafe floor conditions to supervisors and team members.
• This role operates in the immediate vicinity of fast-moving, heavy automated equipment. Clear, real-time communication and strict adherence to English-language safety signage are mandatory for workplace safety.
• Will need to be able to pass the company forklift certification
• Will need to lift up to 80 lbs waist high and stand for up to 12 hours per day
• Will need to be able to use catwalks and climb ladders that connect catwalks up to 60 feet high and according to safety standards
• Will need to have mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Will need to have the ability to do simple math calculations
