Job summary

AlphaHire seeks a rate analyst for project-based engagements with public utilities. You will build multi-year financial plans, conduct cost-of-service analyses, design tiered and fixed-charge rate structures, and prepare capacity and fee analyses.

Responsibilities include assessing bill impacts, presenting recommendations to boards and councils, and contributing to AlphaGov proposals when authorized. Strong Excel modeling and at least five years in utility rate work are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience preparing utility rate, cost-of-service, or financial planning studies for public utilities.
• Strong Excel or rate-modeling financial modeling skills.
• Experience presenting rate recommendations to governing boards.
• Comfort working as a 1099 project-based consultant.
• Knowledge of AWWA M1 or WEF cost-of-service methods (preferred).
• Electric or public power rate experience (preferred).
• Experience with impact fee or system development charge studies (preferred).
