Qualifications

• Four or more years of core project management experience with scope, schedule, and cost.
• Experience leading utility substation or transmission line projects with matrixed teams.
• Experience managing project budgets in the $5M to $50M range.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and related scheduling tools.
• Familiarity with EcoSys, Powerplant, or Maximo.
• Willingness to travel ~20% and perform site walks on rough terrain.

Our client seeks a Utility Project Manager to lead and coordinate utility substation or transmission line projects. The role oversees scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, communications, security, and integration across all phases from planning through closeout. The position is hybrid with site travel. The role requires capability to walk on uneven terrain at project sites and to travel approximately 20 percent using a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.

Rate: $55.00 to $60.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• Lead the project team and provide leadership, oversight, delegation, and coordination across internal and external partners including development, engineering, project controls, estimating, construction management, supply chain, legal, EHS, QA/QC, operations, communications, regulatory, security, fuels, and transmission.


• Manage matrixed team members daily and interface with functional managers regarding placement, development, and conflict resolution.


• Establish and maintain communications among stakeholders. Structure and lead project meetings and reporting, including kickoffs, weekly updates, monthly reviews, and status reports aligned to PMCoE standards.


• Plan projects including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality. Drive estimating, scheduling, cost control, procurement strategies, equipment and vendor selection, start-up and commissioning plans, and integration processes.


• Execute projects to plan within defined scope, cost, and schedule. Manage deliverables including WBS, schedule, communications, regulatory, procurement, contractor and supplier strategy, resource plan, budget, lessons learned, risk, quality, safety, environmental, security, integration, data management, reporting, change management, and closeout.

Experience Requirements:

• Four or more years of core project management experience managing scope, schedule, cost, deliverables, and reporting.


• Experience leading utility substation or transmission line projects with matrixed internal and external teams.


• Experience managing project budgets in the $5M to $50M range.


• Proficiency with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6.


• Familiarity with financial tools such as EcoSys, Powerplant, or Maximo.


• Ability to perform site walks over rough ground and hills. Willingness to travel approximately 20 percent.

Education Requirements:

College Degree or 4 years of related professional experience.
