Job description

Overview

We are dedicated to ensuring the continuous, reliable operation of our facilities through expert management of essential utility services. Our utility plant is a critical component of site infrastructure, supporting heating, cooling, air, and environmental systems that keep our operations running efficiently and safely, every hour of the day.

The Work

We are seeking a Utility Plant Operator to join our team on 2nd shift (4:00 pm – 12:00 am). This role is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of all utility plant and site equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operating and maintaining utility plant equipment such as high-temperature hot water generators, centrifugal chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, and HVAC systems.
• Monitoring and controlling the Building Management System (BMS) to maintain performance and energy efficiency.
• Recording, reviewing, and interpreting system readings to identify areas for optimization and implementing corrective actions.
• Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and modifications on plant and facilities equipment, including preventive and predictive tasks.
• Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls systems using diagnostic tools such as multi-meters and hand tools.
• Collaborating with fellow team members to ensure seamless plant operations and promote a supportive, team-oriented work culture.

Please Note: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level.

Training Schedule

The successful candidate will begin on 1st shift (7:30 am – 4:00 pm) for approximately two months of training. Upon completion, they will transition to 2nd shift (3:30 pm – 12:00 am) and continue training until fully qualified as a Utility Plant Operator. Work on weekends, holidays, overtime, and for shift coverage is expected as needed.
