The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Utility Plant Electrician to install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and controls within our campus utility plants.
Responsibilities include metering, distribution, and plant automation, with a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and minimizing downtime. Candidates should understand VFDs, motor starters, UPS systems, schematics, and NEC standards, and be prepared to work around voltages from 24V
Utility and Energy Services at CU Boulder encouragesapplications for a Utility Plant Electrician! The primaryfocus is the installation, maintenance, inspection,troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment, controls,metering, and related systems. Work is performed with a strongemphasis on safety, code compliance, and minimizing downtime. Theposition also supports the campus wide utility metering system,I&C, and Medium Voltage tasks.
Candidates should have general knowledge of power distribution equipment, motors, Variable Speed/Frequency Drives (VSD, VFD), electrical metering, totalizers, and pneumatic devices, and a working knowledge of electrical diagrams and circuits, and familiarity with NEC.
