This entry-level role keeps the crew supplied, the trench prepared, and the jobsite clean and safe so pipe goes in efficiently and to specification.**Key Responsibilities****Pipe Installation Support*** Assist pipe layers and equipment operators with the installation of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems* Hand tools and materials to crew members and assist with the alignment and placement of pipe* Prepare trenches and job sites by clearing debris and ensuring proper grading**Materials, Tools & Jobsite*** Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and around job sites* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards* Perform general labor duties as assigned to support project completion**Teamwork & Reliability*** Follow instructions from supervisors, foremen, and crew leaders* Maintain predictable and reliable attendance**Safety & Compliance*** Model and enforce Cardinal’s safety program; participate in daily safety briefings and follow trench and excavation safety protocols* Comply with company policies and OSHA regulations applicable to the role*Other related duties as assigned.***Required Skills, Competencies, Education & Experience*** Demonstrated strong work ethic, integrity, and honesty* Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions* Willingness to learn and grow within the company; ability to work effectively as part of a team* Reliable transportation to and from job sites**Preferred Skills, Competencies, Education & Experience*** 6 months to 1 year of construction or underground utility experience* Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment* Familiarity with trench safety and underground utility work* High school diploma or equivalent**Physical Demands*** Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb; repeatedly lift and carry 50+ lbs; operate hand tools and equipment; work in trenches with required protective systems**Work Environment*** Active underground utility construction sites, including open trenches, excavations, and work zones near traffic.* Exposure to outdoor weather, heat, cold, noise, dust, mud, and moving heavy equipment.
