Job summary

Rich Products Corporation is seeking a Utility Operator - MK Up in Murfreesboro, TN. You will safely run table machines and dough processing lines to meet customer specs, while upholding GMP and food safety standards.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, performing pre-op checks, operating extrusion and sheeting lines, and recording results. A High School diploma or GED and forklift certification may be required; prior manufacturing experience is preferred.

Purpose Statement

Responsible for safely running different types of table machines and equipment that sheets and processes extruded dough into products that meet customer specifications, while ensuring food defense and quality.

  • Sets up and changes over all equipment to meet customer specifications.
  • Conducts pre-op inspections as required to ensure food safety and equipment readiness.
  • Operates a variety of equipment, some that include extruders, sheeters, mulit-rollers, moulding systems, conveyors. This includes adjusting speed, gap, weight and stroke as needed.
  • Dumps dough in hopper
  • Ensures the extruder is feeding the line with the correct amount of dough
  • Controls piece weight and size, utilizes MLO
  • Fills flour and toppings hoppers
  • Keeps work area clean and in 6S order to be in compliance with GMP and BRC food safety standards.
  • Takes care of equipment, monitoring it and reporting problems to leadership if they occur.
  • Maintains all required documentation
  • Maintains care of all equipment in assigned area – taking corrective action and getting help as needed.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned
  • Communicate and work with all associates.
  • Follow all GMP’s, food safety, and quality policies.
  • Ensures all GMP and all Food hygiene and Food safety standards are in compliance.
  • Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen, or magnet deficiencies, glass breakage, and pest harborage.
  • Ensure compliance in the areas of food defense, food regulations, and product / process quality; provide adequate coaching as needed.
  • Record accurate and legible results on documentation
  • Provide adequate housekeeping at all times.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Special certification may be required for use of forklift and chemicals
  • Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed
  • One year experience in a manufacturing/ industrial environment
  • Medium to high degree of judgment required
  • Basic math skills necessary

The physical capabilities an associate must have to perform the essential functions of this position are:

  • Moderate degree of physical activity on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to lift 55bs
  • Repetitive standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, climbing, reaching, and moving about the facility
  • Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements. Works in high noise area and wears the appropriate hearing protection.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Exposed to cold/ heat/ humidity
  • Able to work a multi shift environment
