Job summary

Newly Weds Foods in Dyersburg, TN is seeking a reliable machine operator to monitor, run and troubleshoot production equipment, ensuring products meet customer specifications and safety and GMP procedures.

You will perform washouts, set up machines, conduct safety checks, read SOPs, adjust components, load packaging, and respond to jams or malfunctions. Candidates should be able to work in a high-volume environment and communicate clearly with the team.

Qualifications

• Cross-trained operator capable of running all production floor equipment to support coverage needs.
• Able to operate various manufacturing equipment in mass/high volume production.
• Ability to manipulate small parts and gauges; read and follow SOPs and SSOPs.
• Set up machine at start of shift; perform safety checks; troubleshoot jams or malfunctions.
• Inspect and remove defective items; assist with quality checks and reporting.

Job description

Responsible for monitoring, operating and troubleshooting the equipment while working efficiently and following all procedures for producing quality products according to customer specifications, as well as following safety, GMP and quality procedures. The machine operator is also required to do complete washouts of the machinery at the end of a production run.

• Able to operator various manufacturing equipment in mass/high volume production environment.

• Function as needed in various capacities, including moving supplies and discard, filling in for other teammates as necessary and other duties as assigned.

• Assist Area Supervisor in managing production line crew ensuring that goals are met daily, help set new goals and improve morale within the department in compliance with plant food safety requirements.
• Participate in investigations of safety/environmental incidents, production and quality problems. Reports all accidents to the Area Supervisor and assists in completing the necessary accident reports
• Responsible for CIP/COP according to the cleaning plan and hygiene regulations.
• Assist Quality with conducting quality control examinations of product to determine if it meets the proper specifications. Report any problems impacting quality, productivity or yield to the Area Supervisor and/or Production Manager.
• Complete required written and electronic reports. Assist with timekeeping management of line/department employees (schedule rotations, breaks, etc.).
• Ability to interact effectively with various levels of professionals in the organization.
