Job summary

Amrize seeks a Utility Operator at its Theodore, AL facility. You will perform maintenance, basic electrical work, and troubleshoot production issues to keep plant operations running smoothly.

The role requires 5–10 years of industrial experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and familiarity with Word/Excel. A technical degree is preferred, with rotating shifts and strict safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of industrial experience preferred.
• Understanding of cement manufacturing basics preferred.
• High degree of safety awareness.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must follow safety protocols and use Amrize PPE including respirators.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance, repairs, minor installations, replacements and some elementary electrical work.
• Troubleshoot production issues and take corrective actions.
• Perform preheater tower cleaning with Cardox.
• Train other operators and participate in team meetings.
• Work rotating shift schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies; promote a culture of safety.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize has immediate openings for a Utility Operator position for its manufacturing facility located in Theodore, AL where you will perform various tasks associated with maintaining plant operations.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Perform basic maintenance, repairs, minor installations, replacements and some elementary electrical work.
• Troubleshoot production issues and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Perform preheater tower cleaning including the use of Cardox.
• Trains other operators, and particpates in team meetings.
• Works rotating shift schedule; weekends and holidays as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED
Additional Education: Associates/Technical Degree preferred
Required Computer and Software Skills:Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Travel Requirements: Minimal

Additional Requirements

• 5-10 years of industrial experience preferred.
• A good understanding of the basics of the cement manufacturing process is preferred.
• High degree of safety awareness.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
