Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and perform duties as directed by supervision
• Follow safe operating practices for production, maintenance, inspections, and housekeeping
• Inspect, clean, and perform repairs as needed or as skills allow
• Observe equipment operation to detect malfunctions and inform the supervisor
• Travel or float between multiple plant locations as needed
• Report maintenance issues to the maintenance manager
• Report trucking or truck issues to the plant manager
• Communicate trucking-related needs or requests to the scale house
• Perform other duties assigned by management

Job description

• Inspect, clean, and perform repairs as needed or as skills allow
• Observe equipment operation to detect malfunctions and inform the supervisor
• Operate front-end loaders and skid-steer loaders
• Perform pre-shift inspections, fueling, and greasing of equipment
• Maintain equipment appearance and housekeeping
• Operate within the general mine plan
• Report maintenance issues to the maintenance manager
• Report trucking or truck issues to the plant manager
• Communicate trucking-related needs or requests to the scale house
• Travel or float between multiple plant locations as needed
• Perform other duties assigned by management

Requirements

• CDL is not required; non-CDL candidates are encouraged to apply
• Ability to travel to and from multiple sites
• Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals, safety information, and hazard labels
• Corrected eyesight, color vision, depth perception, hearing, and balance acceptable for safe mobile-equipment operation
• Adequate or corrected hearing for safe operation of mobile equipment and awareness near fixed plant operations
• Must be free of the influence of drugs or controlled substances that can affect judgment or coordination
• Knowledge of related safety guidelines and procedures
• General mechanical skills
• Physical/functional requirements for the position
